Clifford Herefordshire

The owners of this 19th century redundant barn in Clifford wished to convert it to provide luxury holiday accommodation within a short distance of Hay-on-Wye. They were keen for the development to be as environmentally friendly as possible, and so the building is highly insulated, and geothermal energy is used to provide heating and hot water through a ground source heat pump.

The building is light and airy inside thanks to large areas of glazing, and even a glass floor section on the upper level. Accommodation is generous, open plan on the ground floor, and with two bedrooms and two bathrooms on the first floor, reached by two staircases.
