North Breconshire
This Grade 2 listed C18 town house is particularly attractive, with its delicate leaded fanlight. Its owners wished to build quickly a single-storey ground floor extension with its own bathroom.
So the existing potting shed was demolished and a substantial timber-framed extension was built. The roof is of natural lead and incorporates electrically-operated roof lights, and the external boarding is of English oak. The bedroom has glazed doors overlooking the garden, and these, coupled with a further window and two roof lights, make this an exceptionally light room. The wet room is lit by a further roof light and is fully equipped for use by the disabled.
